How Do Ducts Work in Any Given System?

Polyurethane

These ducts are manufactured with insulation placed in between the aluminum boards. The aluminum is used with a relatively minute thickness, while the phenolic foam is used for quite a significant amount. These provide both functions of passage and insulation.

PVC

These low-profiling ducts are used as an alternative to steel ducting. This alternative works for both cost concerns and space in the ceiling capacity. These however have not gained much usage in the ducting systems.

Added Insulation

Although certain types of ducts come with insulation, additional insulation is also used. This is needed as the air need to be transported around or out as absolutely intact. A slight leak or penetration and the purpose is sabotaged.

Role of Ducts

Ducts are mainly installed to channel the air. This includes channeling within the building and out of it. Also, it helps with channeling the noise out of the building.
